Born in Macon, Ga., Reuben started picking the guitar when he was only 8 years old with his older brother who went on to play with Otis Redding’s first bandleader, Bobby O’Dea, in a band called “The Pinetoppers” featuring Johnny Jenkins. These early first hand experiences with the R&B scene were a big influence on the young guitar player.

In 1970 he moved to Atlanta and lived above a nightclub named The Bistro. While working there, he got to set in with the many artists that played there including Jimmy Buffet, Al Kooper, Steve Goodman and Gamble Rogers. Soon Reuben was himself on the road traveling and making music. Playing all over the south and even Vegas and Reno, Reuben continued to meet people in the business ranging from Lynard Skynard and Charlie Rich to Sugar Ray Leonard. Having lived in Daytona in the 70’s, Reuben missed the beach and finally returned for good becoming a fixture in the music scene up and down the coast.

Playing a lot of singles, Reuben also has a 4-piece band and an even larger 7-9 piece band, plus now there’s a duo and even a trio. His musical styles range from reggae to country, from Jimi Hendrix to Jimmy Buffet. With strong vocals and guitar chops that make you stop and listen; it doesn’t seem like that leaves any type of gig he can’t cover.
